Join us for a delicious lunch and important educational session with guest speaker Laura Budd!
Laura will lead a conversation on the erasure of marginalized voices and experiences from public discourse, the colonial roots of the modernist framework of free speech, and the tools with which we may claim space for ourselves and others.

Laura Budd is a passionate human rights advocate and ally who is driven to create a society where all people are celebrated and respected.
Laura has worked with students, educators, health care professionals, women’s shelters and service groups to offer diversity training and motivational speaking.
In 2014, Laura Budd was denied identification that matched her identity. She took her case to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, culminating in a 2016 decision by the provincial government to alter its policy of discrimination.
Recently, Laura has continued her work with junior league hockey teams, government agencies, rural schools and Yorkton Pride in celebrating and affirming gender diversity.
