Call for Artists: 2019 True Colours Art Show

Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery
May 31 – June 16, 2019

The Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery, in partnership with Moose Jaw Pride, is calling for artists from the LGBTQ+ community to submit artwork to be displayed at an extended art exhibition at the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery between May 31 – June 16, 2019. The art opening will take place on Friday, May 31 @ 7:30pm (Doors open at 7:00pm). Please see below for more details.

Deadline for Entries:

Drop off your artwork at the MJMAG on or before the following dates with the completed form attached below.
Tuesday, April 23 between 1 and 4:30 p.m. *- Deadline for framing works
Wednesday, April 24 between 1 and 4:30 pm.

Opening Date: May 31 at 7:30 p.m. – Doors open at 7:00 pm
Artists Pick Up Works: Monday June 17, between 12 and 4 p.m.

Selection of Artwork – Depending on size, artists may submit up to 4 works. The MJM&AG reserves the right to edit works from the exhibition due to space restriction issues.

Conditions for Entry – Works submitted should be original works and not have been previously exhibited in Moose Jaw.

All media are eligible for submission.

All submissions must be ready for installation and, if chosen, must be available for the entire duration of the exhibition.

Submissions that need to be matted or framed can be framed by the artist at the gallery on April 23rd, using supplied standard metal frames.

Submission Procedure – Part A of the entry form must be brought or sent to the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery along with the submission of works. Part B of entry form are labels that must be attached to the back of two dimensional works and suitably attached to three dimensional and installation works.

Two Dimensional Art – Drawings, pastels, watercolours and photographs must be matted and framed, with a glass or plexiglass covering. Canvases must be stretched and ready for hanging.

Three Dimensional/Installation Art – Artists must provide detailed information about assembly or installation instructions and hardware if work is made of more than one component.

Shipping – Works must be shipped prepaid, insured or hand-delivered at the artist’s expense. The artist’s name and address must be on all packaging material.

Insurance – Works in the Museum’s possession will be insured by the standard insurance policy coverage of the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery a value must be declared on the attached form.
