Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery
July 25 – August 19, 2018

The Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery, in partnership with Moose Jaw Pride, is calling for artists from the LGBTQ+ community to submit artwork to be displayed at an extended art exhibition at the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery from July 25 – August 19, 2018. The art opening will take place on Friday, July 27 @ 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00pm). Please see below for more details.

Deadline for Entries:
Monday, July 9 between 1 and 4:30 p.m. *- Deadline for framing works
Tuesday, July 10 between 1 and 4:30 pm.

Opening Date: Friday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. – Doors open at 7:00 pm
Artists Pick Up Works: Friday, August 24th between 12 and 4 p.m.

Selection of Artwork – Depending on size, artists may submit up to 10 works. The MJM&AG reserves the right to edit works from the exhibition due to space restriction issues.

Conditions for Entry – Works submitted should be original works and not have been previously exhibited in Moose Jaw.

All media are eligible for submission.

All submissions must be ready for installation and, if chosen, must be available for the entire duration of the exhibition.

Submissions that need to be matted or framed can be framed by the artist at the gallery on July 9th, using supplied standard metal frames.

Submission Procedure – Part A of the entry form must be brought or sent to the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery along with the submission of works. Part B of entry form are labels that must be attached to the back of two dimensional works and suitably attached to three dimensional and installation works.

Two Dimensional Art – Drawings, pastels, watercolours and photographs must be matted and framed, with a glass or plexiglass covering. Canvases must be stretched and ready for hanging.

Three Dimensional/Installation Art – Artists must provide detailed information about assembly or installation instructions and hardware if work is made of more than one component.

Shipping – Works must be shipped prepaid, insured or hand-delivered at the artist’s expense. The artist’s name and address must be on all packaging material.

Insurance – Works in the Museum’s possession will be insured by the standard insurance policy coverage of the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery a value must be declared on the attached form.

Sales – Artists may choose to sell their own artwork or not, with all proceeds to be kept by the artist. If an artists chooses to sell their artwork, prospective buyers will be given the contact information of the artist to make arrangements. Please note: Artwork can only be taken from the exhibition once the exhibition has ended.
